partners for justice

i never heard of this series until i randomly saw this on ryanroar's instagram stories. still waiting for mr.queen or true beauty to be completely finished so i have nothing to watch. so i decided to just watch this series. i heard this has a combination of CSI and police crime story, which is my favorite, so i watched it without thinking twice.

eun sol (jeong yu mi) is a rookie prosecutor that came from a wealthy family and has a photographic memory. determined not to let her family dictates her life, she decided to be a prosecutor instead of pursuing to become a judge and even decided to get out of her house without her family's financial support. unfortunately, on her first day, her boss, no han shin (ahn suk hwan) decided to let her to be the scapegoat. he assigned her to a murder case. a wife of notorious chaebol died and her husband became suspect as he had history of abusing his wife. that case made her face to face with baek beom (jung jae young), an eccentric forensic examiner from NFS.

gathering all the evidence, eun sol was sure that oh man sang (kim do hyun), the chaebol, killed his wife. unfortunately, baek beom together with the team from NFS found out that it was a set up for oh man sang. his wife was being abused indeed, thus she decided to set a plan and killed herself so her husband would be caught as the culprit. but the truth was revealed so eun sol decided to drop the charges. eun sol then met her senior from back the college days, kang hyun (park eun seok), who warned her about baek beom. 

the series went on on several cases, where baek beom, though being eccentric, also being super thorough in his job. together with stella (stephanie lee) who did the chemical analysis and detective cha soo ho (lee yi kyung), they managed to close cases one by one. also, not forgetting those from eun sol's team, investigator kang dong sik (park jun gyu) and cheon mi ho (park hee jin) who apparently is an expert in camouflage. 

some cases might hit home, like the case of doctor ma do nam (song young kyu)'s son death. since dr. ma is a colleague at NFS, it was heartbreaking for all the staff when they had to do the autopsy on that boy. they suspected of foul play at first, but baek beom investigated the evidence slowly and meticulously, and he gathered that it was a suicide. but eun sol managed to find the real reason, that the boy was hallucinated from an illegal drug, thus leading them to catch a drug ring that sold that illegal drug to dr. ma's wife in the first place. they also managed to clear several inheritance cases. then they stumbled upon a case that led them to detective cha. all the evidence from the murder case pointed to detective cha as suspect. but all the team member from prosecutor office and NFS couldn't believe it, so they worked hard following all the evidence until they found out the truth and caught the real killer.

then baek beom had to face his past when they found another murder case which the killer used two drugs combination. apparently, those two drugs were used by kang hyun's older brother to do suicide. kang hyun then went on full speed to prove that baek beom was the culprit while eun sol begged kang hyun to separate his personal feelings from the case. eun sol then learned about baek beom's past. he was about to get married to an OR nurse, when she told him that she was pregnant with kang yong, baek beom's best friend as well as kang hyun's older brother. then both baek beom and her girlfriend got into an accident and baek beom was saved, but the girlfriend died. that accident left baek beom heartbroken. kang yong, who was fallen in love with the nurse as well, decided to end his life. kang hyun then promised to prove that his brother wasn't die because of suicide, but being killed. the case went on quite hard, since baek beom kept quiet, no comment at all, making the whole team desperate. fortunately, detective cha found another lead that was dismissed by kang hyun at first, but later proven that the lead was genuine. they managed to find the real killer and cleared baek beom's name at the same time. 

however, through that case, baek beom learnt that his girlfriend wasn't died at the accident and she wasn't pregnant with his bestfriend's baby. apparently, baek beom's dad begged the nurse to leave baek beom since baek beom was going to give his study to the US. then baek baeom continued ruining his career by taking the charges of malpractice done by his junior, dr. lee hye sung (yoon ji min). before the accident, the nurse's plan to give up her love was caught by kang yong. he then told the nurse to told baek baeom that her baby was his, and not baek beom. after the accident, the nurse was in vegetative state for more than 12 years and being hospitalized by baek beom's dad, who felt guilty of the whole incident. kang hyun found out about it and told baek beom the whole story. baek beom then came just in time when his girlfriend woke up from coma and then died. 

at the end, the group was facing another murder mystery, this time the victim is a woman from oh man sang's lawyer team. once again they had to chase oh man sang, but at the end, they saw oh man sang's car burnt in a car accident and there was no survivor, only bones. the statement from sungjin's corp was oh man sang was driving the car himself, which then leave the big question, did he or did he not die?

what i like:

- similar method to solve murder mystery like CSI. they collect the sample and stuff and processing it in the lab just like CSI.

- amusing characters. most actor and actresses here i haven't seen aside from detective cha, stella hwang and baek beom's assistant. but all of them had good acting skill. especially cheon mi ho. it was amusing to see her being transformed into someone else. she should be an actress and not a clerk in prosecutor office.

- the cases portrays real problems in real life. like oh man sang's case, they talk about abuse in marriage. that leaves the victim desperate and tried to framed the abuser. while from dr. ma's son suicide, once again we saw the pressure for those young kids to become number one so they could enter college easily. they had to study hard and even took lots of supplements and drugs to keep them awake. while at the MERS case, we saw the struggle of a single mom, trying to balance her work and her personal life. i also like how they make eun sol as a tough woman. though being born rich, she decided to lead her own life and leave his parent's house.

- they tried to infuse a love story between detective cha and stella to cheer up gloomy story with all that blood and dead bodies.

what i don't like:

- gee.. eun sol should tie her hair up and put it in a hair net whenever on scene. ain't her hair might fall in the crime scene thus screwing the investigation? and stella. she works in a lab, processing evidence. at least she should tie her hair. 

- talking about stella, i don't like how they tried to make stella looks like the analist from NCIS, the quirky one. but this time they make her sexy and not just quirky. and the mixed language. oh please.. let's her just talk in english. she's fluent in it, so why should she mix the language? it's more confusing that way.

- detective cha. i've seen him twice this time, and there's no difference between him here and him in waikiki. they're both silly but hardworking. they just have different career. back then he was an actor, and here he was a detective. can't he do another character that is less silly? or something else for variety? 

- oh man sang case is another proof of being in power can get you out of trouble. with his dad being super rich and powerful, and has connection to mr. no, oh man sang was confident that he wouldn't face jail time. and talking about mr. no means another corruption in the justice department again. i guess corruption is a thing in every justice department anywhere, not just korea. but at least here mr. no is laying low. he didn't order this and that to cover the case. though he did give the case to a newbie, hoping that she would screw up, but at least until the end, he didn't interfere much. 

rating: 8/10

binge worthy: yes

recommended for: people who love CSI and don't mind a lower standard in processing the crime scene story, police crime story lover, bloody scene and heartbreaking story in several cases. 

dinner mate

i'm in the mood of watching forgotten dramas that got outshined by start up and it's okay not to be okay. i was about to watch mr.queen or true beauty but they're not finished yet, so i decided to watch another forgotten drama. this time it's dinner mate.

woo do hee (seo ji hye) is a producer at a digital content company. starting from scratch, she has this B-rated comedy inserted into her programs that sometimes get her programs loved by many but also hated as much. her latest program was a mess, and so was her relationship. she was in a relationship with lee young dong (kim jung hyun), a restaurant owner in jeju island, whom she thought would propose to her since he was mistakenly sent her a picture of engagement ring. she was excited flying to jeju on his birthday, thinking he would surprise her with proposal. but turned out he was cheating behind her back and he was going to propose another girl, a flight attendant whom do hee met in the plane. 

while kim hae kyung (song seung heon) is a famous psychiatrist especially using food as therapy. he was in jeju to consult a patient, when both he and his patient saw do hee broke up with his boyfriend. his patient was broken hearted woman, and she thought she was beyond rescue. so she refused to get treatment unless hae kyung managed to save do hee. hae kyung then tried to catch do hee, thinking that she was about to get suicide, but he was wrong and accidentally hurt himself in the process. do hee then brought him to the hospital, feeling guilty as she thought he was injured because of her then dropped him off at the airport. feeling sorry for do hee, hae kyung decided to get back to do hee and asked her to get dinner together. at this point, both didn't know each other name or profession. 

thinking that they wouldn't see each other, surprisingly both of them opened themselves during their dinner and then when they spent the night at the inn before flying back to seoul. when do hee asked him would they meet again, hae kyung simply said they would if a trot song managed to get number 1 ranking. back into their usual work life, hae kyung was busy with his patients while dodging all requests from media, from radio to even digital content creator. while do hee got punishment to undo her previous failure. her boss asked her to get hae kyung to do a program with their company, but it wasn't an easy task. do hee was quite persistent that both do hee and hae kyung involved in an altercation through email, without knowing that the other person at the other side was the person that they had dinner with in jeju.

then fate played its role. a trot song managed to rank number 1, so hae kyung while in the middle of his search to find "annoying do hee" had to detour and fulfill his promise and met "the girl from jeju" aka do hee. do hee also on her way to met hae kyung at his clinic when she heard the song ranking and dashed back out, confusing hae kyung's assistant. then they went on another dinner date, and after awhile, do hee suggested they became a dinner mate. someone whom they have dinner with, without knowing each other's name nor profession, won't meddle in each other's business but open themselves to hear when the other side wants to tell them their story. the plan works well for awhile. both of them got comfortable that way. unfortunately, their past caught on.

hae kyung's ex, jin no eul (son na eun), decided to get back with hae kyung. she won't accept no for an answer. despite being popular for her pilates channel, she got into trouble thanks to her mom's debt. she then joined do hee's company to grow her channel more and as a way to get back to hae kyung. while do hee's first love, jeong jae hyuk (lee ji hoon), decided to win her heart back. after leaving her without any explanation 5 years ago, he decided he regretted his decision and wanted to get back to her. but there was a dark secret behind his disappearance 5 years ago. he told her that his father told him to continue his study in the US without giving him a chance to tell do hee, but that was not the truth.

and there was a homeless man near do hee's resident, keanu (park ho san). at first he looked weird, but lately we found out that he was friendly and even got into relationship with do hee's boss. again, there was a dark truth behind his reason to be a homeless. then as the story evolved, both do hee and hae kyung decided they didn't want to be just dinner mate. but then do hee found out that hae kyung was hae kyung the psychiatrist, the famous one that she tried to recruit but failed. she then bailed on their agreement. then hae kyung found out the reason, and found out that do hee was PD do hee, the one that he's been dodging from. determined not to let her lose, he decided to join on her program as one of the guest stars, along with no eul and jae hyuk.

things got complicated. both no eul and jae hyuk did their best to keep do hee and hae kyung apart. but later no eul realized that she lost, so she let him go. while jae hyuk, apparently had darker secret. jae hyuk had a dark past, being the only son from a wealthy dad but his mom was average. his dad only took him into the family because he was the only son, but then kicked him out again. jae hyuk grew up tried to impress his dad, but he was failed miserably. more over when he decided to make up false report about a psychiatrist over prescribed antidepressant drug. the doctor involved was keanu, which then lost his job and his family. but keanu didn't take any revenge on jae hyuk. later keanu told hae kyung about jae hyuk and warned him to be careful with jae hyuk. jae hyuk was too obsessed with do hee and he was delusional, thinking that do hee still thinking about him. anything do hee said or did, he thought she was still in love with him. later, he found out that it was a delusion, and he found out that do hee in fact, was in love with hae kyung. struck by the truth, he tried to suicide, but hae kyung saved him just in time, but he was getting hit by a car in place of jae hyuk. 

at the end, everyone got happy ending. hae kyung was saved and in relationship, happy with do hee. but he got a little trouble trying to make do hee tie the knot with him. while jae hyuk, realizing that he was sick, he agreed to get treatment from keanu. keanu, promised that jae hyuk would be his last patient, and he got married to do hee's boss. while no eul, decided to open her own channel and shop, and later asked the recovered jae hyuk to join her business. 

what i like:

- easy going story. all the problems here are real. and relatable. and it's entertaining as well. i had a good laugh while watching this drama.

- a bit jokes about both do hee and young dong's previous drama, "crash landing on you". both of them played in the previous drama as a lover, but in the early episode of this drama, both of them got the same ending, only this time it was ended because young dong's cheating on do hee while on the previous drama, young dong got killed. and there's also a scene of hae kyung wearing a north korean soldier and do hee wearing the similar clothes as ye jin's role in the same drama.

what i don't like:

- usual complicated story with exes from both sides thrown in. it's better to just use jae hyuk and not no eul. in this drama, i think no eul's character is useless. and typical. jealous ex girlfriend that wanted to prove that she was better. without any other problem. while jae hyuk got a disease that caused his obsession.

- hae kyung is a bit too fashionable and too handsome for a psychiatrist. not that i think psychiatrist has a type, but he was too good to be a psychiatrist. handsome and charismatic, though a bit quirky. plus seeing his patient in public places, is it okay? people can overheard their consultation.

- i guess they make the story longer by adding one year later to the story. it would be perfect to just end it after hae kyung got better after the accident. they can just add the story of jae hyuk's recovery in the epilog or something.

rating: 7/10

binge worthy: surprisingly yes for me

recommended for: people who like light romantic comedy story, typical easy going story without having to think twice about the storyline, who fans of seo ji hye as well as song seung heon.

search

this drama was definitely outshined by start up. i don't know why i got curious about this drama, maybe it's because of krystal. i never saw any update about it on instagram either, as if this drama doesn't exist. anyway, with just 10 episodes, i guess it's the right amount of episodes to wait other ongoing drama before i move on and watch something else.

sergeant yong dong jin (jang dong yoon) is a military dog handler that has 3 weeks left before he's discharged from his military duty. unfortunately, he didn't get easy task. he was given a task to contain a wild wolf. his other teammates are way too "green" in the field that they accidentally shot him with the tranquilizer instead of the wolf. that's the first case that he met his ex-girlfriend, son ye rim (krystal jung). son ye rim is a first lieutenant and an elite officer in KCST command center. later, both of them met again in a special assignment where both of them were told to find a missing officer in the DMZ area. the assignment was a joint mission between the military and KCST.

in that assignment, the team was assigned to find a missing corporal. and there was a suspicion of a rabies dog involved. they found the the missing corporal dead with mysterious attack marks on the body and they also encountered with the rabies dog, but it displayed weird condition that doesn't associated with rabies. they also encountered with a mysterious target, the one that was assumed to attack the corporal, they managed to kill the rabies dog but the hunt of the target caused a tragedy. dong jin had to lost the military dog, which was a sad event. but the other team members managed to get alive.

back in the command center, dong jin was apprehended because he lost the military dog, and it was died, thus the lost of military asset. while ye rim continued to investigate the case. they found out that there was a weird cell growth in the blood sample, from both the rabies dog and the corporal body, as well as radiation traces, so they suspected there was a radioactive spillage as well. KCST decided to deploy a team to investigate further, but higher command in the military had another agenda. apparently, both the general and the assemblyman involved in an incident back in 1997 in the DMZ area as well. it led to a major tragedy that the truth was still uncovered. both of them tried to bury the 1997 case, so both of them planted their own men in the team.

dong jin and ye rim had to work with captain song min gyu (yoon park) that dong jin encountered while being held by the military police. both of them questioned the captain's way to do the job, but they still had to do it anyway since he's the team captain. apparently, he was the general's man. there was first lieutenant lee joon sung (lee hyun wook), a son of the assemblyman that thought his father was truly a war hero, so he wanted to join the military to make his father proud. his father was in the running to become a president at that time, so any scandal regarding the old 1997 DMZ case was a threat to him.

the case got out of control when one of dong jin old team members was found dead in the headquarter while the team were out to find the target. fortunately, dong jin got help from villagers. one of the biggest help was kim da jeong (moon jeong hee). at first they thought she was curious, but her ability to investigate some weird events in the village help the team to find the target. they managed to kill the target only to find that there was a possibility about another target in the wood when da jeong's daughter, su yeong was missing in the wood. she was found in a deserted building in the wood unharmed, and she said there was a weird but kind man that helped her. 

while they were trying to catch the first target, dong jin stumbled upon an old camcorder, the one from 1997 case. he found out that lee hyuk, the assemblyman as well as joon sung's father was not a war hero. he was in fact, the murderer that killed his own teammate as well as telling lie that dong jin's father, captain jo defected to north korea, leaving dong jin and his mother. the video got leaked to the press that made the assemblyman to assemble an assassin team to kill the whole team except for his son. he also killed the general when the general was about to come out with the truth about 1997 case. the team was once again given an assignment to catch the other target as well as hidden assignment given to captain song to find a mysterious substance that was left in the abandoned building in 1997. 

the team found out that the abandoned building was quite complicated. they found the remain of the north korean soldier that was about to defect to south korea together with his wife and daughter back in 1997. both his wife and daughter involved in the DMZ case that left his wife killed while his daughter was safe. the soldier found captain jo that was wounded in the boat previously used by his wife. he attacked captain jo and got killed instead. while captain jo was severely wounded. the north korean soldier apparently brought a radioactive substance which then affected captain jo and the stranded dog that was killed in the beginning of the series. the dog then attacked corporal oh and thus the story began. back to the present day, captain song contacted assemblyman and informed their position, only to find the support team was an assassin team. he made a good choice at the end to not betray his team. later when assemblyman was about to kill both dong jin, ye rim and the mysterious target that turned out to be captain jo (dong jin's father), joon sung appeared and sacrificed himself. at the end, dong jin and ye rim managed to get away from the building that was rigged by explosion, while dong jin's father sacrificed himself and prevented the assemblyman from running away. 

end of the story was quite surprising. ye rim has been trying to find her birth parents, but the only person who knew the truth kept dodging her. moving away when she found him. apparently, ye rim was the baby from 1997 case, both of her parents were the defected north korean soldier that got killed in 1997 case. quite a long stretch.

what i like:

- well, most of the casts are good in their acting. since this is a military story, not surprising to see krystal to be stiff even when she met her ex boyfriend. 

- no plot hole. everything was answered at the end, though you'd see that it's quite simple for a complicating beginning.

what i don't like:

- usual story about people in power trying their best to cover the truth, even from their own son or daughter.

- some scene were ridiculous, like when krystal was frantically holding on to her mobile phone while being attacked by rise-from-the-death corporal oh. why not hit an alarm or something rather than trying to find dong jin's number or the fellow scientist number?

- bad CG and makeup effect on the corporal as well as captain jo that got infected by radioactive substance.

- how captain jo's clothes managed to keep intact even after 25 years. and how he could stay fit and not super skinny considering he was out in the wood, with no proper food and sleep in an abandoned building.

rating: 7/10

binge worthy: not so much

recommended for: people who was a fan of yang dong yoon or krystal jung, doesn't mind poor CG effect and a combination with mystery (not so mystery) military thriller case but turned out to be simple story line.

dodosolsollalasol

this drama got outshined since it was premiering a little bit behind of start up. plus the story was not as grand as start up, so that's i don't hear much about it. anyway, i got interested since life has been depressing, so i didn't want to watch something so serious or dreary, though sweet home has been a hit lately. i opt for a light romantic comedy to help me cheer up. plus i had piano lesson for about 20 years as well, so when i watched the first episode, i totally understand the main character reason to end her music career.

genre: romantic comedy, family drama

this is a life story of go rara (go a ra), the only daughter of go man su (um hyo sup) and heiress of rara cosmetic. growing up, his father thought that rara is a piano genius, but she wasn't. but her father is rich, so he gave rara the best piano teacher and got her into a music college. she thought once she graduated, she would be done with piano. and that day came. she graduated. on her graduation day, she played a piece from mozart, "12 variation of twinkle twinkle little star". she didn't know that on that day, there were 3 people watching her and got amused by her performance.

her father thought it was time for her to get married, so she did. unfortunately, on her wedding day, several things went wrong. her father business was apparently has gone bad without her knowing, and on her wedding day, her father business deal fell through and that news made him got heart attack and soon died. rara was waiting to walk to the altar, when sunwoo jun (lee jae wook) came in to bring her bouquet. he was involved in a traffic accident and the real bouquet bearer asked for his help, so he did. he was awestruck by rara and accidentally got nosebleed over rara's wedding dress. then her soon-mother in law heard about her father misfortune, and immediately ran away with her son/rara's future husband thus cancelling the wedding.

her bad news didn't end there. his father secretary told her that her house would be confiscated and so all of her things, so he told her to runaway with her car and gave her enough money for finding another lodging and so on. again, her bad fortune didn't end. she found and rented an apartment, but she got scammed, so she lost her apartment. she got nowhere to go, when she decided to reply a message in her byeolgram (aka stargram) from a username, dodosolsollalasol and went to eunpo. dodosolsollalasol told her that he/she was in eunpo so she went there to meet him/her. 

she then got into accident and accidentally hit jun's bike. both of them ended up in the hospital where cha eun sook (kim joo hun) worked as an orthopedic surgeon. apparently, dr. cha was a friend of rara former future husband, but he didn't get along with him so dr. cha didn't tell anything about rara to him. since rara got broke, both hers and her dog's hospital bill was taken care by jun. she got nowhere to go and was about to live with jun, when jin ha young (shin eun soo) stepped in. she told her mother, jin sook kyeong (ye ji won) to accept rara in their house so they wouldn't live together as ha young had crush on jun. rara remembered jun was the one that deliver her wedding bouquet, and jun told her that they were the same age, so rara assumed they were the same age. 

soon after she was recovered, rara with the help of jun and a mysterious man who claimed to be dodosolsollalasol who sent her a piano, opened a piano academy at jun's place. it was in the same building as sook kyeong's hair salon. both jun and dr. cha listed themselves as students in the piano academy. and there were mr. kim man bok (lee soon jae), and old man who got into tears when he heard rara playing "the maiden's prayer", his wife's favorite song. mr. kim was their landlord and also decided to get piano lesson from rara so he could play his wife's favorite song. 

rara then found a piano genius, shin jae min (song min jae) and she was excited for him. she was planning to make jae min joined a piano competition so it could make her piano academy famous and she would get more students and made more money so she could pay back her debt to jun. unfortunately, there was a stalker in her piano academy and he hurt jae min. later he abducted rara because he thought rara was kind with her because she liked him. jun who knew about his place found them but go into fight with the stalker and accidentally hurt him, and that made him got arrested.

at the police station, everything changed. they found out that jun was a high schooler in his senior year, who helped mr.kim when he got heart attack, and mr.kim was the only one in eunpoo that knew jun's identity. apparently, jun was the heir of sunwoo foundation and his parents wanted him to be a doctor and inherited the foundation. but jun resisted because he thought he was the one at fault regarding his bestfriend's death. we also knew that jun's bestfriend was rara's fan, and both jun and rara have met at rara's graduation day. jun's mom forced him to come home before he got the chance to tell rara the truth. but he did with the help of ha young and lee seung gi (yong jong bin), ha young's childhood friend who secretly like ha young. rara then told jun to continue his study and kept in relationship with him. meanwhile rara was still searching for dodosolsollalasol, and she thought dr.cha was the one, but she was wrong again.

a bit funny thing in their relationship was after rara broke up with jun because she didn't want to interfere with jun's study, jun found out that rara was about to marry dr.cha. jun immediately stormed out to the church and ran away with rara, only to find out that it was just a gimmick. rara and dr.cha were forced to help seung gi and ha young with their wedding organizer business. but both realized they still have feelings for each other, so rara once again decided to get into LDR with jun.

when mr.kim got another heart attack, his son's planned to sell the building where lalaland (rara's piano academy) and mrs. jin's beauty salon were. dr.cha then came in and bought the building. later we found out that it was jun. jun told his mom to buy the building in return for jun changing his career choice, from mathematic (the career choice of kim ji hoon, jun's best friend) to medical. his mom then gave money to dr.cha to buy the building. things seemed to go well, but later jun found out that he had leukimia and decided to break up with rara, telling her that he was out of love, while the truth was he was going to US for treatment. when he couldn't come during christmas, his mother came and told rara that jun was dying, so rara assumed jun has died, and so the rest of eunpo. the whole eunpo's gang teamed up to cheer up rara. 5 years went by, and rara didn't forget about jun. magically, jun appeared at the end and turned out he didn't die. he just wanted to make sure he was healthy again before appearing in front of rara. and he was the dodosolsollalasol. rara found out about it when jun was about to go to the US. she remembered that they first met at the cafe named dodosolsollalasol, where jun paid for her juice. jun didn't get the chance to ask her number, and he couldn't tell his bestfriend that he liked rara too on rara graduation day. anyway.. the piano was given by mr. kim, but using jun's handler. other than that, everything was jun.

what i like:

- refreshing and light story, it's heartwarming watching another ladies group to cheer up your day. their speculation and their actions were cute. they helped rara at first even though they didn't know her well at that time. totally a family story. and how ha young and seung gi helped jun when they found out that they were the same age. they were cute. hahaha..

- good chemistry between the main actor and actress. 

- all supporting actors and actresses were good as well, though some might look weird, but probably because they were told to be weird.

- lots of classical music incorporated with the story.

what i don't like:

- rara was broke, but her fashion was still super extravaganza. i know she probably brought some of the clothes, but shouldn't that limit her fashion option at first? i never saw her repeat her clothing even though in her broke days.

- the turning plot for making jun suffer from leukimia and then both jun and his mother lied to rara about jun being dead. 5 years waiting was too cruel. if they would end up happy, why not after jun's graduated, then the story end? or when jun stole rara on her fake wedding day, it would good to just end there. no need to give heartbreaking story when at the end they would end up together again.

- again, another story about forcing heir/heiress to follow parents' path. jun's family was picturing the dictator/formal family for being rich, while rara one was warmer though both were born in rich family. and rara didn't have a mother, but she grew up with a lot of people that love her. and how money is important. rara former future mother in law broke up the wedding because her father broke and that made his promise to open a clinic for rara's former future husband gone. gee.. if rara former future husband was really capable, he should open a clinic himself. not depending on his mother to find him a rich bride.

- another love story of younger guy with older woman, though this time lee jae wook didn't end up with someone 13 years older than him. in real life, they were 8 years apart, and in the drama, they were 5 years apart. not bad. but still. he was still in high school when he kissed rara! if people were outraged with ji chang wook's kissing scene in backstreet rookie, why not complained about this drama as well? 

rating: 7.5/10

binge worthy: yes at first, but not at the end.

recommended for: someone who love classical music combined with romantic comedy/family story. fans of go ara and lee jae wook. don't mind watching another love story between an older woman and a younger guy. 

two cops

since start up started airing, kim seon ho became famous. after finish watching the drama, i wanted to know his other drama, so i searched netflix and i found out he was starring another drama with jo jung suk. it seems a good one, so i start watching it.

genre: police crime story, a bit romcom and fantasy

cha dong tak (jo jung suk) is a fierce detective though he was a bit naughty during his teenage year. he had a partner, jo hang jun who got killed on duty but later was accused of being corrupt. dong tak didn't believe that he was corrupt so he kept investigating the case, without knowing that the case would lead to more trouble. his superior apparently tried to cover hang jun's death and didn't want dong tak to investigate more so they made a false accusations on gong su chang (kim seon ho). su chang was a con artist that hang jun put in prison, so they accused him of wanting to get revenge. when dong tak arrested su chang, they both got into a car chase with a motor gang and they got into fight with them. unfortunately they both jumped into the river and then were unconsicous.

when they woke up, su chang found himself in dong tak's body. and the series began. apparently, su chang could get into dong tak's body if dong tak is splashed with water and su chang would come out if he saw blood. su chang himself was lying in coma in hospital bed, with the warning from a fortune teller that he was supposed to find his fate in 49 days or he would die. both dong tak and su chang were still investigating the case, and then they stumbled upon another case of a taxi driver who got killed in accident. the police report said that he committed suicide but the case was similar to recent dong tak's car chase that almost killed him and song ji an (lee hye ri). ji an is a persistent reporter who at first didn't like dong tak because of his behaviour, but later found that dong tak is a hardworking and trustworthy detective so she helped him. 

dong tak's superior then chose another person as scapegoat, this time it was lee du sik, su chang's old friend from his old orphanage. du sik got death threat in prison that make dong tak got himself arrested to protect du sik, but he failed but managed to get du sik's trust and he got clue about the real killer of both jung han and the taxi driver. they were chasing a black motor rider that has an angel's tattoo on his/her back. they also found a necklace from the past with initial TJH. at first both suspected the prosecutor that was helping them to be the culprit, as his name was tak jae hee (park hoon). he was also ji an's friend since his dad, tak jung hwan sponsored ji an until she could get a job.

long story short, they began to see the connection between recent cases to 16 years old case that connected su chang, tak jae hee, dong tak, lee du sik, song ji an and a mystery killer. with the help from su chang's friends (yong pal and friends), they managed to con the culprit and finally arrested the mystery killer and his/her boss. 16 years ago, dong tak was mocking jae hee when jae hee drove his dad's car without approval. dong tak told jae hee to race him and that made jae hee drove carelessly that he caused an accident. su chang's dad got killed in the accident, as well as another parents from a little girl. ji an's dad was the detective in charge to investigate the accident. while the taxi driver was the only eye witnesses. at first the taxi driver said that it was su chang's dad fault, but later we found out that he made false accusation because of tak jung hwan's bribery. ji an's dad found the evidence and wanted to make it right but he got killed instead. su chang, ji an, lee du sik and the mystery girl were all got together in an orphanage. tak jung hwan was a regular sponsor to that orphanage.

after finding the truth, both dong tak and su chang thought su chang could go back into his own body, but until the last minute, that didn't happen. suddenly dong tak decided to splash himself so su chang could possess him, but su chang realizing that dong tak was sacrificing himself, cut himself so he could get out of dong tak's body. however, both actions made su chang got back to his own body. he then fooled everyone by pretending to forget everything so everyone could get on their life. dong tak could get in relationship with ji an and his old minion, ko bong sook could forget her past life, quit pickpocketing and got in relationship with dokgo, dong tak's new partner. 

what i like:

- light and funny stories, a bit confusing regarding the case, but they managed to put two and two together. it's quite funny watching cops doing their job with help from petty criminal. 

- good acting from jo jung suk. he managed to act serious while being dong tak and then quite flamboyant and silly when being su chang. 

what i don't like:

- some outfit are not suitable in my opinion. like dokgo who looked polished, though he was from a rich family, being a police should make him look decent, not flashy. and ji an. she was too fresh and pretty for a reporter. and how she could go in and out police station easily and even touched some evidence too. 

- age gap between jo jung suk and lee hyeri. gee... even i could see that jung suk is too old for hye ri. though in the drama they make them about 7-8 years apart, but still..

- typical soul possesed story with unfinished business as background. so many dramas use this kind of story.

recommended for: someone who like watching crime story with a lot of comedy and a bit romantic story involved.
